In 1995 the Missouri legislature authorized Missouri State’s Public Affairs Mission. Hello, I’m Rachelle Darabi, associate provost at Missouri State University.
One of my responsibilities here is to advance our Public Affairs Mission.
There are several ways in which we have integrated the mission into our programs. We first developed a credit-based Citizenship and Service-Learning program.
We also embedded the public affairs values in the General Education program.
And now we are inaugurating a renewed Journal of Public Affairs to support research.
To advance our newly defined mission, we collaborated with the American Democracy Project to refine the scope of the journal and give it a national board. To celebrate going online, we renamed it the eJournal of Public Affairs.
This MSU promo was the result of an eJournal collaboration that included Marc Cooper, Kristie Reynolds, Rachelle Darabi, studio work at the FCTL, and was co- produced by Andrew P. Lokie, Jr and Dana Dominguez. This project represents the launching of multimedia formatted programs on the eJournal website.
